CV Telecom signs deal for new international undersea cable

Cape Verde Telecom (CVT) has signed two deals in South Africa to be part of a second undersea cable, worth US$25 million (around 2 billion Cape Verdean escudos), Cape Verdean news agency Inforpress reported.

Portugal Telecom shall secure the link to some of its African operations, as well as Internet connectivity with the main European telecommunications centre (London).

This investment will make the Cape Verdean economy more competitive by introducing more reliable international communications, and increased quality and speed to Internet links.
